Harishchandragad trek is certainly one of the most challenging treks you can go for in the state of Maharashtra. The trip is suited for seasoned trekkers with decent experience in mountaineering and/or rock climbing. The Harishchandragad trek route through Nalichi will offer you a range of thrilling challenges that would make your trip a memorable one.

Harishchandragad is a hill fort located in the Ahmednagar district in the Malshej Ghat. With a maximum altitude of 4,665, it makes for a fairly high climb and a challenging trek. However, the journey is fairly rewarding once you reach the top.

The fort is fairly ancient and has historical significance attached to it. Its origin is said to have been in the 6^th century during the reign of the Kalchuri dynasty. However, you will encounter caves on the top that are said to have been carved during the 11^th century.

The Harishchandragad fort is surrounded by various ancient structures that suggest the existence of diverse cultures in the past. The fort is surrounded by the Kedareshwar cave, Harishchandreshwar temple, Saptateertha Pushkarni, and other caves, adding to the scenic beauty of the location.

One of the major highlights of the Harishchandragad trek is Konkan Kada. Konkan Kada is an overhanging cliff that provides you with a beautiful and majestic view of the Konkan region from the top. It is a beautiful wall that stands tall and has a concave structure. This allows you a scenic view, vertical cloud bursts, circular rainbows, and many other picturesque phenomena.

The clouds coming closer to the cliff get sucked into the pitfall below and are thrown vertically into the sky, making for a breathtaking view. Especially when the valley is slightly covered with mist and the sun is exactly behind the person facing the valley, they can see a beautiful circular rainbow making its way from one end of the clouds to the other.

Along with the scenic beauty, Harishchandragad trek would allow you to see many temples, caves, and Pushkarni once you reach the top. All these structures represent the cultures thriving during the 6^th century. You will also find several fine artistic carvings on the rocks and stone sculptures that prevailed during ancient India.

One of the best examples of marvellous ancient architecture is the Harishchandreshwar temple. The temple had been carved out of a single rock and stands tall on the hill, adding to its beauty. Another marvel worth visiting is the Kedareshwar cave located to the right side of the Harishchandra temple. The cave bears a Shiva Linga surrounded by water. It is often pretty difficult for the visitors to reach the center of the cave as the surrounding water is always very cold.

DAY 01 :

Meet at Borivali National Park (Main Gate) at 10:30 pm. & departure to Harihar Fort. Pickup Points – Borivali, Andheri, Bandra, Sion, Ghatkopar, Thane. Time will be share separately. Pickup en-route till Thane (Highway to Highway).

DAY 02 :

Reach at Pachnai (Base village) by 05:00 am. & take a rest for while. Fresh up & have breakfast. Then by an hour, short brief will be given by the trek leader regarding the trek & trek will start (3 Hrs. Trek). By 10:00 am. Reach at the top of the fort , explore the fort & its historical significance , visit Harishchandreshwar temple, Kedareshwar temple, Pushkarani, Caves. & photography session. Then we proceed towards Konkan Kada , arrival & spend some time with the Amzing Geographical structure of The Sahyadri. After spending memorable time on fort , have lunch & our return journey to origin point will start at 01:30 pm . We arrive by 04:30 pm to the base village , then we proceed to Mumbai. Reach to Mumbai at night (10:30 pm).

Traveling by Non AC Bus (Mumbai –Pachnai Base Village – Mumbai).

Well Trained Trek Leaders, Safety Gears, Basic First Aid, etc. relate to the trek.

Personal Expenses.
First Day Dinner is not included.
Anything which is not mentioned in the inclusions.

THINGS TO CARRY :

Good haversack bag to put in all the things to be carried.
Wear Full Trakpant, Tshirt or Full Shirt 2 pair A bottle of water (2 ltr), Camera(optional), Rainkot, Jacket, Eletrol powder, 2 lemon, some snack,biskit.
Personal medicine & plastic bag,odomas or same brand.
A good Trekking shoes, towel and extra clothes, Sleeping Bag, Chadar, Torch.
Anyone original photo ID proof.
Empty Tiffin Box, Small Plate, Bowl.
Avoid wearing Gold and other jewelry(at own risk).

Registration Fee is non refundable.
BHATKE ADVENTURE reserves the right to change, alter or cancel a trip due to any reason which might not be in the best interest of your safety, like dangerous water levels, landslides, extreme weather conditions, due to any unforeseen circumstances, etc.
Trekker should have carry a valid ID proof & should also follow covid regulations like wear a mask, carry sanitizer, etc.
The trek takes place through eco-friendly zone, so we should respect & enjoy the beauty of the respective region.
Do not litter the local sites or campsites. Consumption of Alcohol/Drugs /Smoking / Any other intoxicant during the trek is strictly prohibited. Any kind of Misbehaving activity with participants or local aspects is also offensive.
Do not wear tight-fitted clothes as they might hinder with your movement during the trek.
Do not carry valuables like Jewellery or expensive electronics.
Trekker should have follow all the instruction led by the The Trek Leader.
