Prabalmachi is situated near Shedung Phata which makes it the base village for two famous treks – Kalavantin Durg and Prabalgad. The village of Prabalmachi provides trekkers with some of the best camping comforts and scenic views of the surroundings. Prabalmachi camping will definitely leave you with some great memories of setting up tents and spending time in the lap of nature.

When you climb to the nearby forts from Prabalmachi, you get to see Panvel city, Karnala fort, Matheran, Morbe dam, Irshalgad, and much more from the peak. It is a highly popular camping and trekking location for people living in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The trek provides you with a journey through lush green forests and an ideal terrain for trekking.

Moreover, you will encounter some of the warmest and kindest locals in the Prabalmachi village. They will take utmost care of your stay and also offer delicious home-cooked food. The hospitality of the villagers is definitely one of the highlights appreciated by almost all trekkers. If you are lucky, another major highlight of visiting the Prabalmachi village is the breathtaking view of the fireflies at night. You can spend the night enjoying the view as they light up the night sky.

From the Prabalmachi village, the trek will take you to the famous Kalavantin Durg. With an elevation of around 2,205 above sea level, the peak is one of the most sought-after adventures for people across the state. The trek to Kalavantin Durg is often assumed to be difficult and dangerous in the community of trekkers. However, you can rest assured that the trek is at the most moderately difficult to go for. If you are careful and precise enough, you will easily be able to reach the pinnacle successfully and thoroughly enjoy the journey.

On your way to Kalavantin Durg, you would go through a fairly uneven trail, thick vegetation, and the unmatched thrill of trekking all the way to the top. One of the highlights of the trek is bound to be the experience of climbing the steep hand-cut stairs. These giant steps were carved in the 15th century to help travellers reach the pinnacle. However, the steps are pretty steep and require the trekkers to maintain their balance until they are done with the climb.

Once you reach your destination, you will find all your effort to be worth it. The view of the surrounding hills and forts is bound to mesmerize you and leave you with beautiful memories!
