Pangong Tso Lake –

Khardung-la pass –

Before the Kela pass in September 2021, the Khardung-La pass was the highest motorable road since then. The Siachen glaciers get the supply through this way as even heavy trucks can ply in this road. Markha Valley – 

Markha Valley is between Zanskar and Ladakh. It runs parallel to the Himalayan range. The Markha valley has a beautiful and wild landscape that is linked to Ladakh and is also known as ‘Little Tibet’. It’s the most famous trail of the Ladakh region best suited from June to September. The temperatures in winters reach down to -30 degrees Celsius. Summers are even colder here.  

Nubra Valley –

Tso Moriri Lake –

Hemis National Park –

 It’s a high altitude national park. The Hemis national park is widely famous for Snow Leopard and Shapu Sheep. Species like Great Tibetan sheep, Bharal, red fox, Tibetan wolf, Eurasian brown bear and many others are found here. It also comprises several exotic plant species. It comprises majorly of Pine forests, Alpine Tundra and meadows. A 3-day festival, the Hemis festival is celebrated in this region in memory of Guru Padmasambhava.

Namgyal Tsemo Gompa –

A beautiful monastery set covered by the snowy Himalayas. The monastery lies at an ideal location due to the diverse rough terrains and snow-clad mountains.

Diskit Monastery – 

The oldest and largest monastery of Ladakh is also known as Diskit Gompa. It has a 100 ft high statue of Maitreya Buddha. The statue was built for the peace of the world, protection of Diskit village and prevention of war with Pakistan.

Shanti Stupa –

A mesmerizing attraction of Ladakh for those interested in Buddhist culture. This giant white stupa stands tall against the barren brown mountains. It holds itself as a symbol of peace and serenity. Its beauty unveils the best in the evening when lit from inside.

Royal Leh Palace –

Royal Leh Palace, Ladakh’s heritage, was built in the 17th century. A victory tower is built in this palace in the memory of Ladakhi soldiers. Magnetic Hill –

This is the only place in India where things, instead of rolling down the hill, go uphill. The locals believe this hill is a way to heaven. On the other hand, according to scientists, the hill has a strong magnetic force that pulls vehicles in the vicinity. Alchi – 

For an unusual journey, you must backpack for this Alchi village in Leh. It locates at a magnificent height of 10000 ft above sea level in the Indus River valley. Alchi still holds 11 century ancient Buddhist temples. A very famous shrine called the Alchi Monastery. The highlights of this Tibetan style monastery are Dukhang (assembly hall), Sumtseg, Manjushri Temple, chortens and wall paintings. The best time to visit this monastery is during their festivals. You would experience the ultimate cultural rituals here. Another temple is the Dukhang Temple, the oldest temple here. It also has alluring carved panels engraved with Bodhisattvas and guardian figures.  

Zanskar Valley –
